How do I upgrade the software for myFirst Camera Insta 20?
If you’ve just received your myFirst Camera Insta 20, a software upgrade is required before using the device. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you complete the upgrade process successfully.
⚠️ Important: Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged before starting the upgrade. An incomplete upgrade due to low battery may cause the device to fail to turn on.
-
Check your Insta 20 Software Version
-
Go to the Settings menu
-
Check the software version
-
If your version is 20250214 V1.0, go to Step 2.a;
If your version is not 20250214 V1.0, go to Step 2.b
-
-
Download the Firmware File
-
For Version: 20250214 V1.0 → Please download INSTA20_7701_5429.zip (file download available below)
-
For all other versions → Please download INSTA20_3049_5410.zip (file download available below)
-
-
Extract the File
-
After extracting the ZIP file, you will get a file named: gp_cardvr_upgrade.bin
-
-
Copy the File to the Memory Card
-
Insert your Memory card into the computer
-
Drag and drop the gp_cardvr_upgrade.bin file into the root directory of the Memory card (not inside any folder)
-
-
Start the Upgrade
-
Power off the camera
-
Insert the Memory card into the camera
-
Power on the camera
-
The screen will display: “Upgrading firmware…”
-
Wait for the upgrade to complete (takes about 1–2 minutes)
-
The device will automatically power off once done
-
-
Verify the Upgrade
-
Auto shutdown = upgrade completed
-
-
Last but Important
-
Remove the Memory card
-
