What kind of SIM card is needed for myFirst Fone R1 smartwatch?
myFirst Fone R1 (Europe/Asia/Africa) supports the following - 2G: 900/1800MHz | 3G: 2100/1900 WCDMA | 4G LTE Bands: B1, B3, B7, B8, B20.
Do check with the preferred local mobile network operator if the SIM card is on the supported bandwidth.
For myFirst Fone R1 (Japan), it supports 4G LTE Bands: B1, B3, B8, B18, B19.
R1 needs a Nano SIM card that comes with Talk Time and Data. Caller ID is also needed for some countries.
R1 would not be able to function properly on a Data-only SIM card or Shared SIM card (SIM card with the same number across multiple devices).
* For Singapore user, TPG/SIMBA SIM card is tentatively not compatible with R1

How to insert sim card into myFirst Fone R1?
When inserting the SIM card into your myFirst Fone R1, ensure that the card is oriented with the gold contacts facing upwards. It's important to avoid inserting the SIM card with the contacts facing downwards to prevent any potential issues.
Can I use TPG/SIMBA card on myFirst Fone R1?
Please note that TPG is running by pure LTE data and they don't have 3G network or GSM voice network. Therefore, it is not compatible with our device. Their Voice is fully running on their data network, which is why connectivity is our concern, especially at basement or some area that couldn't get their "data" network. While Singtel, StarHub and M1 do have both Data and Voice network. Which is why sometime at basement you can make phone calls, but can't make WhatsApp call. So even if the data network is bad, you still can make voice call if there is any emergency.
